About the League
The only exhibition game of Tuesday, August 25th took place in Moscow. Two arch-rivals faced off at Legends Park auxiliary rink as Krasnaya Armiya Moscow visited JHC Spartak Moscow. The red-and-blue enjoyed a solid 6-3 win.
‘Army men’ survived an early Spartak’s power play and a few minutes after going back to playing full-strength Yegor Kuzminov set up Danila Khulapov for the first goal of the afternoon. Less than a minute later Krasnaya Armiya doubled their lead. 17-year-old defenseman Nikolai Makarov took a long shot and the puck ended up in the back of Spartak’s net taking a deflection. Forward Nikita Shalyshkin was credited with the final touch and ‘Red Army’ went up 2-0.
The red-and-white managed to get a goal back just over a minute into the second period of play – Daniel Usmanov put it in as 19-year-old Maxim Dontsov had the only assist on the marker. Spartak were able to build on that in the ensuing eight minutes as not only they brought the game back to even but also got in the lead shortly after. Dmitry Silantyev scored off an individual effort, while Andrei Legalin had a tally off Nikita Tonkov and Yegor Maklozyan’s helpers against Junior Hockey League rookie Timur Narudinov.
Krasnaya Armiya scored two consecutive goals after that as Yevgeni Gorfinyak and Malik Alishlalov hit the twine once each. The red-and-blue cemented their win with two more goals. This time Yegor Kuzminov and Matvei Vasin were able to get a marker each past 16-year-old Yegor Korzin, who had only competed for Spartak Moscow junior hockey school team. Danila Khulapov finished the game with two points as well as Yegor Kuzminov as both had a goal and an assist.
