2019 Sirius Junior Club World Cup action concludes on August 28th with two final games in Pool B.
Red Bull vs. Kärpät
Finnish champions have already guaranteed themselves a semifinal berth so Red Bull will give it everything they have in the game. Two days ago Austria faced Team NAHL and failed to catch up to them on the scored board, having allowed three consecutive goals. Pontus Englund and Robert Arrak brought Salzburg back to within one but the ‘Bulls’ couldn’t get the equalizer in the final ten minutes of regulation.
Kärpät didn't have it easy in their previous outing either. In fact, the game against Ocelari Trinec turned out to be quite dramatic. Finland had to come back from behind but they got the job done in the end and went on to have six points after two games. Tuukka Tieksola, one of Oulu leaders, had a day to remember as he scored two goals and notched two assists for four points. Zdenek Sedlak racked up three points.
Ocelari Trinec vs. Team NAHL
Having lost two consecutive games, Czech Republic lost every hope of making it to the semifinal round but they have a great chance to slam the door should they defeat Team NAHL who need to win. On paper USA have a better chance of making the playoffs, but Ocelari turned quite a few heads giving Kärpät, one of the favorites of the tounrament, a run for their money.
NAHL struggled but still walked away victorious from their game against Red Bull, as Killian Kiecker-Olson, Billy Feczko and Nick Trela had a goal each. As for Trinec, their main firepower lies in their top line, led by Daniel Pryzbyla, who scored two points against Kärpät.
