2019 Sirius Junior Club World Cup action will continue with two final round robin games in Pool A on August 27th.
Davos vs. Team AJHL
Canada has a great chance to secure a semifinal berth following a spectacular win over MODO. All they have to do is beat HC Davos, who have just one point and one goal after two round robin games. However, the Swiss also have a chance to finish second in Pool A. Michel Riesen’s side would have to beat Team AJHL and hope that Loko Yaroslavl will defeat MODO in the final game of the day. One should keep this scenario in mind. There’s no doubt that Davos will do their best to get a win.
Alex Young turned quite a few heads with his performance in the game against MODO as he scored a hat-trick. Carter Savoie picked up assists on two of Young’s markers. Canada seems to have the upper hand in this matchup but Davos have nothing to lose.
MODO vs. Loko
Reigning Kharlamov Cup and Junior Club World Cup champions will face MODO in their third round robin game at the tournament. Swedish team had defeated Davos in the shootout for a 2-point win and then lost 5-4 to Team AJHL in a very exciting game. While MODO struggled offensively in their first game, they certainly opened the floodgates in the second as they scored two goals in the opening four minutes and looked just as good as Canadians. William Wallinder had assists on both of the markers as he assisted on Willy Norberg’s tally and then scored his first at the tournament as well off Jeremias Lindevall’s helper. Joel Wahlgren and Hugo Styf scored the other two goals.
Loko had no trouble beating Davos as they scored four unanswered goals on the Swiss, securing a semifinal berth. Alexander Daryin stayed hot as he scored his first goal of the tournament and picked up his fourth assist. Danila Dyadyenkin, Yegor Manin and Daniil Gutik had a tally each.
