About the League
Your Chance educational program participants played their third exhibition game, which was attended by Student Hockey League representatives, who presented their teams to the players the day before in Sochi.
Game 3 proved to be the most high-scoring in the series as Team B, coached by Vladimir Gromilin, once again won 6-5. Despite the fact that ‘Whites’ opened up the scoring just 30 seconds into the first period of play, Team B established a 3-goal lead by midway through the frame. Team A managed to tie the game up but failed to force overtime – Team B won the bout as they scored their sixth goal. With this 6-5 outcome at Shayba Ice Arena the teams have concluded Your Chance educational program, organized by the Junior Hockey League and Sirius educational center.
“This program was a new experience for both Sirius center and JHL,” says Sirius sports branch manager deputy Dmitry Savin. “Some of the things were completely new for us, while we borrowed some well-known practices as well.
“Participating in Your Chance program is a real opportunity to get into professional career. We will have the results next week in Moscow, but I can say right now that there about eight players who spiked the interest of JHL teams. Besides, Student Hockey League representatives spoke to the players. Perhaps, about 15 players will be invited to play for university teams. They will have a chance to study and play hockey. Thus, almost half of the participants will continue to play hockey, which is a very high result.
“This successful experience of a joint JHL and Sirius center program is determined by the quality of selecting applicants. Next year we will continue with the program. Our end-goal is to strengthen JHL clubs with potentially promising players and support the latter.”
