On November 6th, in the only game of the day Loko Yaroslavl enjoyed a blowout win over Taifun on home ice. The visitors got off to a bad start on this road trip.
The only goal Primorie Region managed to get in this one was the initial marker of the game as they converted on their very first powerplay opportunity. A long passing play led to a dish to the far post and Yuri Zholobov tapped it home. Although not only ‘railway men’ tied the game up before the intermission, they also got in the lead. Ilya Chefanov scored his first goal of the game with a one-timer. Not even a minute later Mikhail Belyayev put it past Vladislav Glazatov, who was down on his belly.
Early in the second period of play Mikhail Smirnov pounced on the rebound to make it a 3-1 hockey game. A little later Vladislav Chervonenko blasted it in from the neutral zone. Midway through the period Chefanov buried another rebound on Yegor Manin’s shot and ended the night for Glazatov, who got replaced by Danila Shaloiko. The latter also got scored on a couple times. Chefanov completed his hat-trick in the third period and Stepan Nikulin set the final score. Notably, that was Nikulin’s first career Junior Hockey League goal. Loko rolled on to a blowout 7-1 win on home ice.
