Just one regular season game took place in Junior Hockey League on October 10th. Ladiya Togliatti played their second game of the back-to-back series against Irbis Kazan on home ice. Togliatti won the previous outing in overtime.
Kazan, who were looking for revenge, came out hard for this one and gave a hard time to goaltender Artyom Zabrodin and his defenseman early on. Home team was up for the task and created several good scoring chances of their own. Airat Vildanov had the best one but he couldn’t beat Irbis goaltender on the short-side. Togliatti’s initial penalty of the game led to a goal. Maxim Polevschikov was sent to the box for delay of game and 30 seconds later Alexander Zaitsev netted one on the ensuing powerplay. It didn’t take home team long to find the equalizer. Half a minute went by and Yegor Bystrov sent one past Artur Akhtyamov.
36 minutes Irbis scored another one but it went in off one of their player’s skate and the goal was disallowed after video review. There was a price to pay for that in the third period as Ladiya managed to score twice to secure the win – Andrei Grishakov got both markers in a span of three minutes. He got his first of the game on a wraparound and then he buried the rebound. Ilnur Shabanov brought the game back to within one but that was as close the visitors could get in this one. Ladiya once again beat Kazan’s major junior team as they take it 3-2 on home ice.
