NOT A WORD ABOUT HOCKEY. NIKITA RTISCHEV

In today’s edition of our continuing Not A Word About Hockey series we’re going to talk to one of the brightest young stars of Krasnaya Armiya Moscow 18-year-old forward Nikita Rtischev. He speaks about his spare time activities, favorite movies and preferences in music.

Spare time

- I decide on what I eat myself. Before practices I eat only pasta and chicken. I try not to eat anything with flour in it before going to bed. My favorite meal is French style meat with pasta Bolognese.
- I Have a pet. It’s a cat named Shura.
- I like to different things in my spare time, depending on how tired I am. Sometimes after difficult practices I can just lay in bed and do nothing. Although, after light practices I can go for a walk. I like to stroll down Moscow with my friends. We like to go on different quests, which are really popular in Moscow these days.
- I have visited many countries already. I really liked Switzerland. I would like to go there again sometime.
- My favorite movie is Dark Side and my favorite TV show is Kitchen.
- I listen to different kinds of music. It could be rock, rap or club music. The latest track I have added to my playlist is Tsvet Nastroyenia Chyorny by Yegor Krid and Filipp Kirkorov.

Style

- I don’t have a role model when it comes to men’s attire. I like to dress well. I like jeans and shirts. When I go to practice, obviously, I put on sportswear but in my spare time I like to dress well. In everyday life I prefer classic style.
- I pay attention to clothing brands sometimes but not really. White is the predominant color in my wardrobe.
- My favorite perfume is Gucci. I don’t grow a beard and I can’t do that anyway yet.

Character traits

- My biggest assets as character traits are charisma and perseverance. I like to achieve my goals and I can take a hit. As for my shortcomings, sometimes I have a quick temper and overreact to things surrounding me.
- A real man must be a responsible person. He must be strong and manly.
- From my parents I inherited such quality as to be able to find compromise and be persistent. My father taught me to never give up. My mother taught be how to be decent, be nice to my elders, speak with as less slang as possible and have manners in public.
- When I meet new people, first thing I look at is the way they talk and ability to construct dialogue.
- I am not superstitious.

Relationships

- I’m currently single. My ideal girlfriend has to be a muse to me and have a great sense of humor. As for her looks, she doesn’t have to be 90/60/90 but I would like her to take care of herself.
- Serious relationship is an important part of life. They can’t be an obstacle or get in the way of career in sports. I’m a professional athlete and I have a busy schedule, so it has to be respected.
- I remember one awkward situation. I met a girl and we agreed to meet at a subway station. While I was waiting for her, another girl came up to me to ask what time it was. She looked a lot like the girl that I had met. I was about to hug her when I saw confusion in her eyes and it dawned on me that I was mistaken.
- If I’m going to have a son, I’m going to sign him up for hockey. But not if I’m going to have a daughter.
- When girls meet me and find out that I’m a hockey player, they react positively. I noticed that a lot of girls like athletes.

Career and studies

- If it weren’t for hockey, I would have been an architect. I like the trade because you need to have great imagination for that.
- I study at two universities – Synergie and RGUFK. I know my classmates but I seldom have time to come to classes.
- Higher education is one of the key factors these days. If you want to achieve anything, you really have to have it.

Interesting story

- I traveled with my team once from Stupino to America. We were all about seven back then. As we were unpacking, I took a look at my buddy Vitya Burunov. He just sat there and sadly looked at the bench. When we asked him what was the matter he said that he forgot to bring his skates. I remember it very well. It was funny to everyone but Vitya.
