Several exhibition games took place recently. Almaz beat Loko, Russkie Vityazi beat Kapitan but the narrowest margin, Ugra defeated Avto, while Altay edged Kuznetskie Medvedi in the shootout.

Loko Yaroslavl - Almaz Cherepovets 2-3

Reigning Kharlamov Cup champions Loko Yaroslavl faced Almaz Cherepovets on home ice in their first exhibition game of the season and it was the visitors who came out on top. Vladislav Nikolayev opened up the scoring just 30 seconds into the game. A few minutes later Almaz improved their lead as Maxim Nevolin found the back of the net. In the second period of play Nevolin converted on a powerplay and to get his second marker of the game. Yaroslavl managed to get two goals back in the final period of play – Vladislav Chervonenko and Rostislav Khaliullin got a marker each. As had been decided earlier, the teams also played an overtime, followed by the shootout. Almaz beat Loko in the shootout as well – 2-1. The teams will meet again on July 28th in Cherepovets.

Russkie Vityazi – HC Kapitan – 1-0

In their second exhibition game of the pre-season Russkie Vityazi won again. This time Maxim Bets’ team defeated HC Kapitan Stupino. There was just one goal scored in the game – Nikolai Anufriyev found the back of the net midway through the second period. Home team also had the upper hand in the shootout as they won 2-1. Next game between the two teams will take place in Stupino on July 28th.

Kuznetskie Medvedi – Altay Barnaul – 3-4 SO, 4-1

Kuznetskie Medvedi faced VHL’s Altay twice in the past few days and both games turned out to be very contested. That is especially true for the first game as Barnaul managed to win only in the shootout. However, it was the home team that walked away victorious in the next meeting as the ‘Bears’ beat Altay 4-1.

Avto Yekaterinburg - Ugra – 2-6

Yekaterinburg major junior team faced VHL’s Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk in Kurganovo. Recently relegated KHL team was dominant and went on to win 6-2. Alexander Derbenyov and Ilya Zakharov scored for Avto.
