10th annual Junior Hockey League Challenge Cup returns to Nizhnekamsk. The game will be part of the 2019 All-Star Week festivities, which will now be hosted in the Republic of Tatarstan.
2019 JHL Challenge Cup will take place in January 2019. Neftekhim-Arena will also host Women’s Hockey League All-Star Game, while Kazan will be the site of KHL All-Star Game. JHL top players have clashed for nine consecutive years to defend their conference in symbolic All-Star Game. Team West currently leads all-time series 7-2. Western Conference also won the latest JHL Challenge Cup game, which was held in Astana, Kazakhstan.
JHL official platforms will announce selection criteria for the 2019 Challenge Cup soon along with detailed information about events and activities at long-awaited All-Star Week in Tatarstan. Four best players of the Challenge Cup game will once again participate in the main event of the 2019 All-Star Week – Skills Competition and 4-team tournament, contested by the top players from each KHL division.
JHL Challenge Cup is a game between top Junior Hockey League players, who are split into two teams according to their conference – West and East.
The history of the cup goes back to 2010 when it was held for the first time at one of Russia’s largest arenas – Ice Palace in St. Petersburg. In seven years the game was also hosted in Ufa, Magnitogorsk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Cherepovets and Nizhnekamsk. In 2019 it will be hosted in Nizhnekamsk again and will be a part of the 2019 All-Star Week festivities in the Republic of Tatarstan.
