This past Sunday Krasnaya Armiya finally won their first game of the season after three consecutive losses. Reigning Kharlamov Cup champions beat Almaz Cherepovets in the second game of the back-to-back series 4-2.
Yegor Filin played a huge role in that much needed win for the red-and-blue. Young forward scored two goals and added an assist to that for three points. Filin assisted on Daniil Lobanov on Krasnaya Armiya’s first goal of the game, which took place four minutes in. 18-year-old forward also went on to beat Alexei Artamkin twice in a span of four minutes. Filin had had just one assist coming into this game.
Cherepovets forward Igor Geraskin also scored two goals in that game, but it didn’t help his team to get any points.
Avto Yekaterinburg’s goaltender Georgy Romanov had a stellar performance as he earned a shutout in the game against Sputnik Almetyevsk. 17-year-old netminder stopped 18 shots. That was just his sixth career Junior Hockey League game.
Andrei Altybarmakyan played his first JHL game of the season. JHL Challenge Cup and KHL All-Star Game participant made his debut for SKA-1946 St. Petersburg as they hosted Chayka Nizhny Novgorod. Altybarmakyan scored a goal and picked up an assist, while his team marched on to a 4-1 win.
