Avto Yekaterinburg enjoyed a hard-fought for win over recent Junior Club World Cup finalist Reaktor Nizhnekamsk. Yekaterinburg junior team decided to go in stride with their KHL team and begin the season on a bright note. Nizhnekamsk opened up the scoring at 01-55 – Yegor Sorokin scored on a powerplay. But ever since then it was only Avto who was finding the back of the net. Ruslan Safin, Andrei Obidin, Alexander Derbenyov scored at even strength and Dmitry Noskov added another one on a powerplay to bring Avto their first points of the season.

Extra frame solved nothing but Omsk still enjoyed their first win of the season as Dmitry Salvasser scored the shootout winner.
