Valentin Bystrov Memorial came to a close on August 18th in St. Petersburg, while a pre-season tournament with Junior Hockey League teams kicked off in Magnitogorsk. Exhibition games took place in Yaroslavl and Podolsk.

JHC Dynamo St. Petersburg win their fourth consecutive home pre-season tournament

Traditional pre-season tournament Valentin Bystrov Memorial came to a close in St. Petersburg. In the opening game of the day Krasnaya Armiya Moscow was limited to just one goal but that proved to be enough to beat Dynamo-576 St. Petersburg. The tally was registered by Sergei Shamshurin.

First place at the tournament was disputed in a game between two St. Petersburg rivals – JHC Dynamo and SKA-1946. Matvei Michkov and Maxim Krovyakov joined the latter prior to the game. First goal of the bout came late in the second period of action – Daniil Davydov sniped top-shelf on the near side. The 46’s tied it up as Alexander Gordin found the back of the net – he was left all by himself and buried the rebound. Semyon Sorokin scored the game-winning goal for Dynamo 56 minutes into the contest. With this success JHC Dynamo St. Petersburg win their home pre-season tournament for the fourth consecutive time.

Pre-season tournament begins in Magnitogorsk

Traditional pre-season tournament with Junior Hockey League teams kicked off in Magnitogorsk. In the opening game of the tourney Reaktor Nizhnekamsk hit the ice with Belye Medvedi Chelyabinsk. Nizhnekamsk enjoyed a win in a very high-scoring game.

Loko Yaroslavl enjoyed a win over HC Kapitan Stupino at Arena 2000 by a large margin. The hosts got a 4-1 victory. As per prior agreement, the teams also played a 5-minute overtime – the ‘railway men’ managed to score three more goals over the stretch. Alexander Perevalov got a pair of tallies and added an assist for a total of three points. He also scored the shootout-winner for Yaroslavl.
