Valentin Bystrov Memorial games took place in St. Petersburg on August 17th, while exhibition games were held in Yaroslavl, Stupino and Moscow.

St. Petersburg teams beat two rivals

Tradition pre-season tournament Valentin Bystrov Memorial continued on in St. Petersburg. In the opening game of the day SKA-1946 St. Petersburg enjoyed beating reigning Kharlamov Cup champions JHC Dynamo Moscow by a large margin. Vladimir Sychyov registered two points as he scored a goal and picked up an assist.
