SKA-1946 St. Petersburg win their home pre-season tournament

Nikolai Maslov Memorial came to a close in St. Petersburg on August 6th, while Sakharov Cup games took place in Togliatti.

In the first game of the last day at 2021 Nikolai Maslov Memorial traditionally held in St. Petersburg Loko Yaroslavl and HK Riga put together a goal-fest. Latvian side conceded most of the tallies. Ilya Chefanov scored a goal and picked up two assists for a total of three points for Yaroslavl.

In the second game of the tournament Mamonty Yugry Khanty-Mansiysk beat SKA-Varyagi St. Petersburg. The ‘Mammoths’ had to come back from behind and erase a 2-goal deficit. Forward Grigory Osipov scored twice and that proved to be a key factor in the comeback win. He also participated in Khanty-Mansiysk’s second tally, picking up an assist. Vladimir Korobintsev registered three helpers in the tilt.

In the final game of the tournament SKA-1946 St. Petersburg and JHC Dynamo St. Petersburg had to decide the first place. The 46’s established a comfortable lead in the opening period of action scoring two goals – Maxim Krovyakov and Ilya Rychkov had a tally each. Dynamo managed to get on the board with a power play goal only after Nikita Shuydin and Yegor Gurzanov had had a marker each. However, the hosts still had the last word in the tilt. SKA-1946 enjoy a 5-1 victory over rivals and win the home pre-season tournament.

Loko-76 win a hard-fought game, Sarmaty beat Amurskie Tigry

Tyumensky Legion Tyumen and Loko-76 Yaroslavl kicked off a new day at Sakharov Cup in Togliatti. Yaroslavl were trailing behind throughout the game but down 4-2 Ivan Sinitsky and Ilya Lysykh scored a power play goal each, sent the game to overtime and Yaroslav Zykov scored the deciding goal for Junior Hockey League newest member.
