Former Belye Medvedi Chelyabinsk head-coach Alexei Zavarukhin will join Anvar Gatiyatulin’s coaching staff on Traktor Chelyabinsk as coach analyst. Zavarukhin coached Belye Medvedi for the past two seasons making it to the second round of the playoffs on both occasions. In the 2017-18 season he was one of Maxim Smelnitsky’s assistants. Belye Medvedi went on to win Junior Hockey League bronze medals that season.
Zavarukhin spent almost his entire career in Chelyabinsk. Overall he played 12 seasons and 549 games for Traktor, scoring 98 goals and notching 106 assists for a total of 204 points. He also played for Spartak Moscow, Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, Sibir Novosibirsk and Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg.
Konstantin Panov will be the new Belye Medvedi Chelyabinsk head-coach in the upcoming season. He was one of Alexei Zavarukhin’s assistants in the past two seasons.
