Andrei Nikonov has been traded to JHC Dynamo Moscow, while defenseman Ivan Vereschagin was dealt to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod’s system.
Andrei Nikonov began his career on Spartak Cheboksary. In 2017 he moved to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod system and made his Junior Hockey League debut at the age of 15. Overall the forward played 123 games for Chayka, scoring 16 goals and notching 23 assists for a total of 39 points.
In the 2019-20 season Nikonov made his Kontinental Hockey League debut. At the time he was 16 years 11 month and 19 days old. The forward made the Top-10 all-time list of the youngest KHL rookies. Nikonov’s 2-way deal with Dynamo Moscow was inked until 2022.
Ivan Vereschagin had played for Sibirskie Snaipery and Russkie Vityazi in Junior Hockey League. He had played 73 games in the league, scoring six goals and notching five assists for a total of 11 points.
