Sputnik beat Reaktor, return to playoff zone

Reaktor Nizhnekamsk faced their Tatarstan rivals Sputnik Almetyevsk. Nizhnekamsk got a minor penalty in the opening period of the game, managed to survive it and soon enough got on the board – Georgy Krysov found the back of the net. Early in the second period of action Bulat Shambazov improved the lead to two goals. Shortly before the second intermission Mikhail Fadeyev cut into the lead as he capitalized on a man-advantage.

Almetyevsk went on to turn everything upside down in the first four minutes of the third stanza. Andrei Sholgin made it a 2-2 hockey game, while Timur Zakirov netted the eventual game-winner on a power play shortly after that. With this 3-2 success Sputnik surpass Sibirskie Snaipery in Eastern Conference standings as well as Belye Medvedi Chelyabinsk and return to the playoff zone.

Almaz lose to SKA-1946 in St. Petersburg

SKA-1946 St. Petersburg faced off against Almaz Cherepovets at SC Hockeytown. The day before the 46’s won a hard-fought game and were looking to build on the success to surpass the opposition in Western Conference standings. Opening period of play featured just one goal – Yegor Gurzanov beat goaltender Artyom Nazarkin from the doorstep, slipping the puck past him into the back of the net. Nothing changed on the board in the following 20 minutes of play, even though SKA-1946 created a lot more scoring chances, while the visitors took just six shots on Pavel Romashkin.

12 minutes into the third stanza Ivan Manin found himself in the right place at the right time and buried the rebound on Alexander Gordin’s shot. Alexei Lapin scored Cherepovets’ only goal of the game as he fired a clapper in from the blue line. Almaz went for one final push with the extra attacker out but it only led to an empty-netter scored by Alexei Tsyplakov. SKA-1946 St. Petersburg win 3-1 on home ice.

JHC Dynamo Moscow beat Loko once again for their 14th consecutive win

Last game of the day was held in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region. JHC Dynamo Moscow played the second part of the back-to-back series against Loko Yaroslavl, whom they had beaten the day before. Yaroslavl got an early chance to capitalize on a 2-man advantage and Maxim Denezhkin, who had led Loko in points last season, converted on it. However, Dynamo totally dominated in the second period of action as they scored three goals past Yegor Guskov. In a span of less than a minute Artyom Ivanov and Mikhail Kulakovsky got a marker each to give Moscow a 2-1 lead, which was soon followed Alexander Kisakov’s tally.

As a result, Denezhkin’s tally remained the only one the ‘railway men’ would score all night. As for Dynamo, they went on to get another goal – Yegor Bryzgalov set the final score and secure Dynamo’s 14th consecutive win. The blue-and-white continue to sit comfortably on top of Junior Hockey League’s Western Conference.
