Reaktor Nizhnekamsk beat Almaz Cherepovets in Game 4 of the series on the road and for the first time in franchise history made Kharlamov Cup Finals. Alexander Sokolov’s men enjoyed a 4-1 win.
The very first well thought-out offensive rush by Nizhnekamsk brought them a goal. Almaz goaltender Alexei Artamkin stopped Marat Khairullin but gave up a juicy rebound right in front of trailing Pavel Poryadin. Nizhnekamsk top-scorer made the most out of the opportunity and sent it into the back of the net to give Reaktor a 1-0 lead. Home team wasn’t shaken by that and they tied the game up at 08-49. Nizhnekamsk got carried away in the offensive end on a powerplay, Almaz caught them on a counter-attack, Daniil Vovchenko got on his jets and beat Roman Golovanov in tight for his fifth goal of the post-season.
Reaktor grabbed the lead again at 25-41. Rafael Bikmullin jumped out of the penalty box, got the puck after Almaz’ defensive mistake, got in on a breakaway and beat Artamkin to make it a 2-1 hockey game. That was sixth post-season tally for Reaktor captain.
In the third stanza home team threw everything they had at Reaktor but at 53-22 Bulat Shafigullin beat Alexei Artamkin for the third time. Rafael Bikmullin set the final score late in regulation as he scored his second of the night. With this 4-1 loss Almaz Cherepovets win Junior Hockey League bronze medals.
Reaktor Nizhnekamsk will face Krasnaya Armiya Moscow in the 2017 Kharlamov Cup Finals. Game 1 of the best-of-seven series will take place in Nizhnekamsk on April 17th.
